To me, the line drawn between "Data Scientist" and "Data Analyst" is not only artificial, but also counter-productive. Anything worthy of being called science must include thorough analysis and a deep understanding of the underlying concepts. In other words, being a "Data Analyst" is in my opinion a prerequisite to being a "Data Scientist". But any good analysis should be based on science, so it is very hard and highly subjective to draw the line between data analysis and data science.
